Dog Daze of Summer!

The local county park held a dog pool party.  I know crazy huh?  It is held once a year and so this was Newton's first year attending.  I didn't think he would like the water at all.  Ron and I took Newton to a dog beach in San Diego when he was about 8 months old.  He was frightened of the waves.  Another time he was near a large body of water was at a friend's house.  We brought Newton to the pool party and he did not look happy when we PUT HIM INTO THE POOL.  He wanted to swim out as fast as possible back onto dry land.

Almost in!
So we let Newton do his own thing at the pool.  All of a sudden he was jumping and hopping in the shallow end of the pool.  Chasing, barking and playing with the other dogs; the instigator of all dog chasing.  Newton did jump into a deeper part of the pool and he immediately swam back to the edge.  I don't think he actually likes to doggy paddle so I'm thinking I'll get him a vest for next time.
Get the toy!

It's safe to say he likes the water and doesn't mind it.  It's the swimming part he doesn't like.  The lack of floor makes him nervous.

Newton the instigator bugging another dog haha.
In the end he was exhausted and in a daze.  And as we all know - a tired dog is a good dog.
