Homemade tug-o-war

One of Newton's favorite game is tug-o-war. We usually buy him rope type toys for him to tug. These types of toys are perfect for him but of course they don't last that long. Being creative and frugal when we can, we decided to take some old denim jeans and turn it into a tug-o-war toy. Braiding strips of it together makes for a very sturdy toy, sturdier than the ones at the local pet store! Newton has been playing with it for three days and it still looks great. Stay tuned for updates on it.

Hiking rocks and eating samples oh my!

It's been a long while since the last post so here we are again. It was a long and busy weekend for Newton. On Saturday we took Newton to the annual pet exposition to see what new treats and inventions people have to offer. It was more like a cookie smorgasbord for him! He ate every sample we gave him.

Yes, treat please.
We took Newton hiking today. He loves our hikes, weather permitting. It almost seems as if he has endless energy clamoring, hopping and running around rocks and small boulders. If there is a group of us hiking he tries to keep everyone together as a group, a herding trait ingrained in him.  He probably doesn't know why he does it but no one ever gets lost or astray while hiking.

Stay together please!
I wonder what's in store for Newton next weekend!  Stay tuned.

Newton on his nest

One of my blankets was strategically placed for Newton to get to.  Here he is sitting on it like he's some sort of bird.  I wonder if he's warming an egg under there?  Oh Newton.

Lately, he's been on some blanket addiction.  I laid an old blanket on his bed the other day and now it's like he has a new bed.  I'm pretty sure it's partly the cold weather and the smell of clean laundry and his people.  Mmmm smells like momma!
