Heat, heat, go away

I've been trying to keep Newton busy inside.  His new tricks will soon be revealed once the temperature goes back down to the 80s!  The summer heat waves are terrible especially on Newton's paws.  He doesn't like to 'toilet' on the faux grass we got him and instead does his business on the landscape rock.  Who would've thought that the rocks are cooler to the touch than the grass.  Anyway, visits to the dog park and walks are done early evenings now.  I know he appreciates it.

The corgi walk

It's always an entertaining thing to see a corgi walk. All corgis have this characteristic butt swing when they walk. Since they have long bodies and short legs it's especially funny to watch them turn a corner almost similar to watching a semi-truck turn a corner except, especially Newton, they are quite fast at doing it. Yesterday during his daily walk, Newton did just that but this time around his butt crashed into a bush.

I took Newton for a walk today and decided to hike up the small mountain behind our house. He was walking perfectly until I noticed he had some kind of berry in his mouth. Whenever Newton is distracted from his immediate environment, at this time the berry, he walks perfectly! I took it away from him and his pulling commenced. ::sigh::
